You know it's gonna be a long day when...

...you try to call work and let them know; Surprise! You are back from vacation 2 days early! ...but the phones are turned off.

Then your day gets even better when your supervisor says; "we may have some bad news. The doctor had a stroke, and it looks like he may die. So we don't need you to work today or tomorrow." Please note that it was worded "may" have some bad news. What could be worse than dying?! Perhaps there is something worse than dying being bad news. Like, 'you are going out of business'. Or, 'you might die, and you were a really smart old man and left the business in your girlfriends name'. I don't know.

So the next day I call, and I am told the clinic is closing for a few weeks while they look for a new location - I want my stuff! So I get there to clean out my things, and they have people scurrying about, putting equipment in trucks and taking them to storage. WTF? It was nuts. Anyway, long story short, I got a new job. And I learned:
never say never

Just don't. 'Cause if you do, you end up working for Massage Envy in Magnolia, Texas. I know, I know, I feel like I have given up! AH! BUT - for my needs, they are going to be a good fit, and I will pretty much always be booked because I have amazing skillz. You know. I gave one of their more experienced therapists (20+ years) a massage, and she loved it. That's right. LOVED it. The Lord has a great sense of humor, and sometimes I wish he would laugh at someone else.

Hooray for having a job though! yay!

A much needed vacation!!

To Austin! Andrew & I knew we had to get away - what better place than Austin? With plenty of good food, things to do, and family, it was the perfect combo. And I love combos.

We got to have lunch with my grandparents, Oomie & Sir, and have wonderful conversations. And anyone with any brains can appreciate good conversations that stimulate your brain! We got to see the bats at the bridge...ewww! (I will post pics/video of that later) We got to canoe, swim (at Uncle John's and in the carl barton spring), watch fireworks w/the John May family, have an awesome lunch with Uncle Mike, watch the Wimbledon final with Sir, and most important: spend time with family.

As you know, Austin is known for being "weird". I would say more like, crazy. You got hippies mixed with liberal folks, and what feels to be billions of college students that think UT is the only place on the planet earth worth talking, breathing, or eating about. Otherwise, Austin is a great place with plenty of things to do! SO GO!

A look at the ceiling of our great nations (er....I meant State, State!) capital! Sweet.

I realize you can't tell, but those doors were super tall! For Giants! It took us a second to open them (and when I say "us", I mean Andy).

Brings a tear to my eye every time.

If this sight isn't amazing to you, then you aren't a Texan. So go away!

The rest of these pictures aren't posted in the correct order. This picture is of Uncle John & Isabella walking down to swim in the spring! ...where the water was freezing!

After a long day of canoeing and swimmin', Isabella is done and wrapped up to go!

Andrew & I chillaxin' on our amazingly huge beach towels. Seriously, they are big enough to wrap a whale in 'em.

Our canoe crew! Andrew says he is "white, something fierce". Maybe you can tell compared to John & Isabella.

The Colorado River! What a perfect 4th of July activity to do in Austin.

Uncle John & Isabella are ready to rock 'n roll! Especially with such stylin' shades.

This gal was born for the camera. I was camera shy as a kid, this girl is not! I guess we got that from different sides of the family.

After swimming and canoeing, Isabella was done wearing her shoes. "Daddy, my shoes are getting my feet dirty. Can you hold them?" I thought your feet got more dirty without shoes...

Two lovely ladies ready to go home and change!

Life goes on . . . as usual

Hello friends! SO much has been happening recently, I don't even know what it is you want to know! I have compiled a few pictures that might shed some light...

In February, we went to a wedding. Although this picture is not of the bride and groom, these men are representing all that is sacred in marriage. Okay, not really. But we got rained on during pictures, and Paul, Nate & Andrew are just being weird.

We are cute! Yes, that is a fork in Andy's hand. We ate a nice, quiet dinner upstairs. Everyone else is too noisy in our house to enjoy a quiet anything anywhere.

In February we all (and when I say "all", I mean Kurt, Sherylin, Dad, Mom and myself) went to the George R Brown to check out a smaller wedding shin-dig. Across the street is the park, where this fancy golf cart was waiting for us to take a picture of it. VROOM!

Anna & I enjoyed us some Reba! I probably shouldn't admit this, but whenever we go, we look for the empty seats of people who didn't show up. Somehow we always pick the seats that no one comes to claim. Hooray for better sections!

Little Ella Boyce turned 1 this year. We partied pretty hard, I think the neighbors called the police on us. Those toddlers are crazy!

Sherylin was kind enough to think of me when two extra tickets for Taylor Swift appeared at work! I am telling you - suites are the only way to go for Rodeo! It was so much fun, the food was great, and I didn't even have to pay for it!

Jennifer took a minor road trip with mom this past March (from Utah to Texas...she had to get her "stuff". I would hardly call her car, "stuff") and on the way home made a minor detour to the house my parents built in Colorado Springs, near the Air Force base. Yes folks, I lived in this lovely home for about 4 years.

Maybe I should explain this one...it's April fool's day. I show up to work, and my supervisor stole a "going out of business" sign from a different business off of 1960/I-45 area. It was HUGE. I wish I had gotten a picture. OH well. Anyway, so I pull into work thinking to myself: "it's a miracle! I am so relieved! I have my resume ready, and now I have an excuse for looking at other jobs while at work!" It never dawned on me what the date was. I had a smile on my face when I walked through the doors. Then my dreams and hopes were dashed when they told me to think really hard about the days date. I was mad. Grrr. Andy got the great idea to make this sign for me for when I got home. Needless to say, I felt confused for a minute, and I am sure the homeowners association got more than one phone call about the sign.

Sean & Jenn. Bothering each other, as usual.

My poor car!! Let's be honest - my car isn't THAT nice, it's not a mercedes or anything. But I was really upset when some girl hit my bumper...it was raining. But thankfully she was completely honest with both insurance companies, and her insurance paid for everything! Now I have a brand new bumper that looks better than the old one did before the accident. buahahaha.

It's too bad my computer keeps telling me I don't have the rights to save this photo right side up. Otherwise, it would look much cooler. This would be Kurt at Sherylin's company picnic that she planned/coordinated. I think it was in April. I think.

Andrew knows how much I love my American Cookie Co cookies!! He bought me a large heart cookie with this cute message. I LOVE YOU! My mother's day present will be when I get my new phone next month - it's gonna cost a "little" bit.

But that is about it, I suppose. For my friends who got the news that I was pregnant, and were wondering where my pictures and news are; don't. We found out a couple weeks ago that I have had a miscarriage, which has been heartbreaking. And we found out a few days before Mother's day, which really made my day amazing. BUT - we are good. We are moving on and pushing forward, and my awesome ob/gyn says that in a couple or a few months, my body should be ready to try again. And this time, it better keep! But that is why I have been avoiding the whole internet - blog - facebook - emailing - calling people - thing.

So for now, probably starting next week (after I feel my body has mostly completely healed) I will be getting myself into tip-top shape. What better time than now? Which means lots of running, indoor soccer, and personal trainers. Nice. Hopefully I will be able to trim down a little while I am at it. :)

I will update everyone again soon with church callings, and in June, girls camp! Woohoo!

UPDATES!! Come and get 'em!

Okay, lets be honest. This won't be much of an update. I am kind of going backwards...forgive me. WE ARE NOT PREGNANT. Despite contrary persecution, we have not made a baby. I only had a stomach virus, jeez people. Calm down. Seriously.
But more important than viruses, Transformers 2 is coming out this JUNE!!! HOORAY I am so excited. If anyone wants to see it with Andrew & I just call me!

This here is just a random picture taken a couple years ago. I don't have access to the network a bunch of recent photos of us are on. There is no telling when I will have time to transfer the pictures (I am pretty slow when it comes to technology - I really am turning into my mother!).

Okay, so my mom and Aunt painted these crazy frog things for their dad for Christmas. This guy was my favorite by far - I think they painted 4 of them. It could have been 5. But he plays the fiddle, so he is cool to play in Texas in a band.

Jenn & I stopped at a hotel in Page, Arizona on the way home from Utah. When we pulled up in front to check in, I had stuff in my hands to throw away. Keys in one hand, trash in the other. For some really odd reason, I tossed everything in the trash - keys included. As soon as they left my hand I realized what was happening but was too slow to catch them again. So I had to dig my keys out of the trash can...thankfully the front desk clerk gave me some gloves. I think might have gotten Aids. Here we can see her modeling my makeup brush. Wow. Thank you, Jenn!!
At graduation! Jennifer, Tiffany, and myself. WE DID IT! Hizzah. And Hoorah.
So that is about it. I am very slowly building my business on the side - have not decided on a business name, so I have not printed my new cards, so I don't have hardly anything organized. But I am working in a rehab place, so it's not like I am not making money. Just not as much as I could. But Andy likes to say I work slow: and it's true! So don't worry people, I am getting there. I work 30 hours a week and make just a little less than I used to at the bank. Difference being: I don't work weekends or nights, my work does NOT follow me home (at least, not in a bad way), I get a one-hour lunch break, and it is not the end of the world if I call in sick. How much better can it get? Oh wait, if I get my business going enough that I could quit - then it would be heaven!

Andrew is trying to get into Harris County to be a constable - if he gets the job, he would have to start in the jails. But, it could be worse. Keep your fingers crossed that if it is the Lord's will, he will get the job within a few weeks!!

Sherylin got engaged! About time too - she is thinking right now of a Hawaii wedding in June of 2010...we will see how long that date holds up. ;) I will get a picture or two up of the happy couple once I figure out which camera the pictures are on - cause they sure ain't on mine!

Whelps folks, gotta jet. Maybe I will update this in time for Easter.

Running away . . . for a night.

So after feeling the stresses of school and life getting to us - we decided to run away to Salt Lake City for an evening. The real excuse is that my big brother, Sean, flew into town to drive home with Andrew this Thursday. We couldn't leave him stranded up there, but he would have been cool just hanging out at Eric's house all day. After lunch (btw, THANK YOU ERIC!), we went to some outdoor mall near the Temple to wait for it to get darker for the lights at Temple Square. We forgot about the Christmas broadcast taking place that evening . . . and felt kinda bad when we bought hot chocolate from Maverick. Oh well. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted, because as usual, I forgot to charge my camera battery. GRRRR. But here are a few highlights:

Jennifer in front of the reflective pool thing with the pretty nativity behind it.

Myself in front of the Temple. The place was stinkin' GORGEOUS. I love Christmas lights!

Seriously, who wouldn't want to escape here? Peaceful, pretty, and full of Christmas at the moment!

Sean cracks me up! I tell him to pose, and he has no clue what to do. He instinctively chooses this pose . . .

Andrew always wants to look in charge. This picture proves that.

I love this picture! I should have cropped it though. It is similar to a picture we took 3 years ago before we started dating. Officially anyway.

Holy Moly the Temple was breathtaking!! The moon was much brighter than this picture lets on. But that's okay.

Wish Jenn & I luck as we take on a stressful week: Monday - TrP review, Anatomy hands on quiz we have not studied for. Tuesday - Lab Final, Russian Protocol due that I think I finished. Wednesday - TrP final I have not studied for, Pathology II final I have only studied essay questions for, pack up the rest of the apartment and load moving truck that evening. Thursday - Andrew & Sean leave for Texas and I pack up anything remaining to throw in the back of the truck. Then I start the cleaning process (we need our deposit back - BAD), I also have to get my sales project completed on this day as it is the only day I can do it. Friday - Clinic shift as usual with cleaning the apartment afterward...I hope I get it finished this day (mon is my last day I have to be out). On top of these things, we have 3 more finals NEXT week we haven't studied for yet, and a sales project that has not come together yet. It's kinda due on Monday.

Can't wait to see everyone back home! ! ! !

We are Moving SOONER. HOORAY!

Actually, Andy is moving back sooner. I am so jealous!! He is trying to get on with HPD back home, and in order to qualify you have to have completed 60 college credits. After he starts the application process, he realized he is 7 credits shy. Now he is leaving the 11th of December to take 2 mini-mester classes, and I am stuck here to finish school until the 18th. GRRRR. So I probably will not post another blog until after Christmas - I have to pack the entire house by the time he leaves, while keeping up the toughest finals I will get to take. How fun! Pray for me~
